In on-premise EMS servers, depending on the SQL server version two different Microsoft ODBC Driver versions can be installed, for example:
In the EMS server, the latest version of ODBC takes precedence when multiple versions are installed, so ODBC Driver 13 can be uninstalled.
Solution: Before uninstalling the Driver, always confirm which ODBC Driver version is being used on the SQL DB configuration. For this, check the db.conf file which can be found under C:\Program Files (x86)\Fortinet\FortiClientEMS\db.conf Verify the Driver version set in ConnectionTemplateODBC=DRIVER setting, for example:
Once confirmed that ODBC Driver 13 is not being used on the DB configuration, proceed to uninstall it. It is expected to receive below Warning when trying to uninstall:
Before any changes on the EMS server, take a DB backup and a VM snapshot. |
